Three players drafted in top three rounds of NHL Draft

(Vancouver, BC) — Three players were selected among the top three rounds of the NHL Entry Draft on Saturday in Vancouver.

Goaltender Mads Sogaard (Aalborg, Denmark) was selected in the 2nd round (37th overall) by the Ottawa Senators. The 6’7 goalie spent the past season playing for Medicine Hat of the Western Hockey League and was the starting goalie for Denmark at the World Junior Championships.

Goaltender Hunter Jones (Brantford, Ontario) was also selected in the 2nd round (59th overall) by the Minnesota Wild. The 6’4 goalie spent the past two seasons playing for the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League and has been invited by Canada for the World Junior U20 camp in Plymouth, Michigan this summer.

Another collegiate player was also selected in the Entry Draft on Saturday. An additional eleven players have been invited to respective NHL Development Camps.
