Dobson captures second straight Memorial Cup

(Halifax, NS) – Defenseman Noah Dobson captured his second straight Memorial Cup championship over the weekend as he led his Rouyn-Noranda Huskies to a 4-2 win over the host Halifax Mooseheads.

The 6-3, 177 lbs. native of Summerside, PEI scored 1 goal and picked up 2 assists in five games at the annual CHL Championship tournament in Halifax, NS.  Last season Dobson also helped lead the Acadie-Bathurst Titan to the Memorial Cup title.

He was named to the Memorial Cup All-Star team, earned the QMJHL Playoff MVP (Guy Lafleur Trophy) and was selected to the QMJHL All-Star team for 2018-19.

Dobson was the key component in a deadline deal that sent his rights to the Huskies midway through the 2018-19 season.

He was a 1st round selection of the New York Islanders in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft held last summer.  Dobson signed his entry level contract last August and will report to the Islanders’ in September to begin his professional career.
