(Davos, SUI) — Forward Eric Faille (Lachine, QC) and defenseman Mathew Maione (Stouffville, ON) have been selected to play for Team Canada at the prestigeous Spengler Cup Tournament slated for Davos, Switzerland over the holidays.
Faille, 30, is a member of Kloten of the Swiss League and played his CHL hockey with Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the QMJHL and USports with the University of Moncton of the AUS.
This season he has picked up 13 goals and 25 assists in 30 league games for Kloten.
Maione, 29, is currently playing with Dynamo Minsk of the KHL and played his CHL hockey with the Niagara Ice Dogs and Guelph Storm before embarking on a four-year stint with the University of Prince Edward Island.
The 5-9, 175 lb. blueliner has recorded 3 assists in KHL play this season between Kunlun Red Star and Dynamo Minsk.
