(Guelph, ON) — Four M&T Clients were selected in the 2019 CHL Import Draft held on June 27th.
The Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League (WHL) selected Danish LW Jonathan Brinkman Andersen (Aalborg, Denmark) in the first round, 34th overall from Aalborg Pirates. The 5.11, 165 lbs. forward recorded 6 points in 20 games in the Danish pro league this season as a 17-year old.
The expansion Winnipeg Ice of the WHL then selected LW Nino Kinder (Berlin, Germany) with their 2nd round, 64th overall selection. The 6.00, 163 lbs. forward scored 41 points in 33 games in 2018-19 with the Eisbaren Berlin U20 Jr. club.
The OHL Barrie Colts used the 71st overall selection to take German forward John-Jason Peterka, a 5.11, 181 lbs. forward who had 94 points in 48 games with Red Bull Academy U19 team.
Winger Manuel Alberg was then selected 90th overall by the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL after a season with the OHL Owen Sound Attack. The 5.10, 154 lbs, 18-year old forward scored 8 points in 55 games with the Attack last winter.
