Lee and Bellamy off to World U17 Championships

(Dawson Creek, BC) – Two players have been nominated to compete for Canada at the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge in Fort St. John-Dawson Creek, BC from November 5-11, 2017.

Jake Lee (Sherwood Park, Alberta) of the WHL Seattle Thunderbirds and Jaxon Bellamy (Hampton, NB) of the QMJHL Moncton Wildcats will compete this week on Team Canada White at the 8-team event.

Canada will field 3 teams (Black, Red & White) and will be joined by clubs from the USA, Czech Republic, Russia, Finland and Sweden.

Lee, is in his first full season with the Seattle Thunderbirds, and has a goal and assist in 13 games as a 16-year old rookie.  He played last season with the Sherwood Park Kings after being the 18th overall selection in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

Bellamy, a rookie with the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL, has 2 goals in 10 games this season after spending the 2016-17 campaign with the St. John Vitos Midgets.  Bellamy was the 15th overall selection in the 2017 QMJHL Entry Draft.
