(Guelph, ON) — The NHL Central Scouting released their most recent and final rankings for the 2020 NHL Draft.
John-Jason Peterka (Munich, GER), a first-year eligible forward who played this season with the EHC Red Bull Munchen of the Deutsche Elite League, is rated 7th among European skaters. He starred for Germany at the World Under-20 Championships, where he scored four goals and two assists in seven games.
Will Cranley (Peterborough, ON), a 6’4 goalie with the Ottawa 67s of the Ontario Hockey League is ranked 4th among North American goalies after a season which he had an 18-2 record and 4 shutouts to go along with an .894 save percentage in 21 games.
Among the other players rated for the NHL Entry Draft include forward Cole Cormier (Dieppe, NB) of the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL, forward Elliot Ekmark (Linkoping, SWE) of Linkoping HC of the Sweden J20 Superelit; forward Logan Morrison (Guelph, ON) of the Hamilton Bulldogs of the OHL, as well as goaltender Jesper Vikman (Stockholm, SWE) of AIK IF of the Sweden J20 Superelit. Finally defenceman Peetro Seppala (Kuusankoski, FIN) of KooKoo Kouvola of the Finnish Liga is also listed.
The 58th NHL Entry Draft was originally supposed to be held on June 26-27 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec but is currently postponed pending the outcome of the coronavirus epidemic.
