Eight players on NHL Central Scouting List

Guelph, ON – Eight players have been included on the initial NHL Central Scouting List for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

Oliver Turan of the Drummondville Voltigeurs, Jordan Spence of the Moncton Wildcats, Nathan Dunkley of the London Knights, Hunter Jones of the Peterborough Petes, Danil Antropov of the Oshawa Generals and Jake Lee of the Seattle Thunderbirds have all been listed by NHL Central Scouting.

Turan, a 6-5, 212 lbs. right shooting defenseman, was selected in the 1st round (40th overall) in the 2018 CHL Import Draft.  Last season Turan spilt time between the NAHL Brookings Blizzard and the Proprad Jr. Club in his native Slovakia.  The native of Innsbruck, Austria has 1 goal and 4 assists in 5 games to date with Drummondville of the QMJHL.

Spence, a native of Cornwall, PEI is a 5.10, 165 lbs. rigth shot defenseman with the Moncton Wildcats.  He was selected in the 2nd round (20th overall) in the 2018 QMJHL Draft from the Summerside Western Capitals Jr.A. club where he recorded 52 points in 50 games.  This season with Moncton he has 1-4-5 totals in 5 games.

Dunkley is a third year junior with the OHL London Knights who was a 1st round choice (17th overall) choice in 2016 from the Quinte Red Devils of the ETA.  The 5.11, 183 lbs. centerman recently participated at the Los Angeles Kings camp.  He recorded 57 points in 60 games last season.  So far this season he has 5 assists in 3 games with London.  The Campbellford, ON native began his CHL career with the Kingston Frontenacs before being traded to London in a blockbuster deal last season.

Jones, a 6.04, 196 lbs. goaltender is entering his 3rd season with the OHL Peterborough Petes and recently was named CHL Goaltender of the Week.  The Brantford, ON native was the Petes’ 5th round choice in the OHL Priority Selection in 2016.  Jones has a 3.00 GAA and a .913 save percentage this season.

Antropov, a native of Toronto, ON, is a 6-1, 185 lbs. centreman with the OHL Oshawa Generals.  He is the son of former NHLer Nikolai.  He was the 6th overall pick of the Generals in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection from the Toronto Marlboros Minor Midgets.  Currently Antropov has recorded 5 points in 4 games to date for the Generals.

Lee, a native of Sherwood Park, AB is starting his third season with the WHL Seattle Thunderbirds.  He is a 6-2, 188 lbs. left defenseman who was the T-Birds’ 1st round selection in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft from the Sherwood Park Flyers.  Lee has an assist in 3 games with Seattle so far this season.

In addition, Nino Kinder, a 2000 born forward from Eisbaren Berlin of the German DNL U-20 league and another NCAA eligible client have also been included on the initial list.
