(Toronto, ON) — Three players were selected to represent their countries at the World Under 20 Championships in Toronto and Montreal later this month.
Samuel Bucek is a late-1998 forward playing for the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL, who was invited to play for Slovakia. Due to a knee injury Bucek was forced to withdraw after being named to the team.
Christian Wejse is a late-1998 forward playing for Blainville-Boisbrand of the QMJHL, who was invited to play for Denmark. After serving as team captain of the Denmark U-18 team last spring he has been hampered by injuries this far in his first season in Canada.
Timo Haussener is a 1997 born forward selected to play for Switzerland during a season which he has excelled with Zug of the National League B. Following a season in the OHL with the Guelph Storm, the 6’5 forward returned to Switzerland where he has posted a strong season thus far.
