Tom Kuhnhackl re-signs with Islanders

(Guelph, ON) – Twenty-seven year old forward Tom Kuhnhackl (Landschut, Germany) has signed a one-year contract with the New York Islanders.

Kuhnhackl had four goals and five assists in 36 games last season for the Islanders. He added three assists in eight playoff games.

The 6.02, 196 lbs. winger was originally a 4th round draft pick (110th overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Kuhnhackl has won two Stanley Cups with the Penguins and will be counted on for an increased role with the Islanders next season.
