Two players drafted to the National Hockey League

(Chicago, IL) — Two players were drafted to the National Hockey League held in Chicago, Illinois on June 23-24, 2017.

Trent Bourque (Burlington, Ontario) is a mobile, 6’3 defenceman who posted 11 points this past season as a shutdown, puck-moving defenceman for the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League. He was selected by the St Louis Blues in the 6th round.

Skyler Mckenzie (Edmonton, Alberta) is a 5’8 speedy, offensive forward with grit and high skill level who was selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the 7th round following a stellar season with the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL where he posted 42 goals and 42 assists this past season.
