Four players participating in World U18 Championships

Chelyabinsk/Magnitogorsk, Russia – Four players are taking part in the IIHF World Under-18 Championships in Russia this week.

Forward Stephane Patry (Erie Otters) is suiting up with Switzerland.  Defenseman Oliver Turan (Brookings, NAHL) with Slovakia and defenseman Peetro Seppala (KooKoo U20) with Finland.  Also playing is a college eligible forward.

Patry, a native of Geneva, just completed his first CHL season with the Ontario Hockey League’s Erie Otters scoring 5 goals and 4 assists in 50 games in his rookie season.

Turan, a 6-1, 175 lbs. defenseman from Innsbruck, Austria played in the NAHL this past season with the Brookings Blizzard before suiting up for HK Proprad U20 squad this spring.

Seppala, a 6-1, 179 lbs. defenseman, is currently rated #38 on the NHL Central Scouting list for Europe.  The Kuusanoski, Finland native played 47 league games with the KooKoo U20 club recording 2-13-15 points.

The tournament wraps up with Championship games on Sunday, April 29th.
