(Boston, MA) -- The Boston Bruins have signed free agent defenseman Kai Wissmann (Schwenninger, Germany) of Eisbaren Berlin (DEL) to an NHL contract.
The 25-year old free agent is a 6-4, 207 lbs. blueliner who was a standout for Germany at the recent World Hockey Championships. He had 7 points in 8 games as a defenseman at the prestigious tournament.
Wissmann wrapped up his sixth campaign in the DEL with Eisbaren Berlin, which includes back to back German Ice Hockey Championships. He has been named the DEL's Top Defenseman for the past two seasons playing in 55 games and recording 4 goals and 16 assists.
He also participated in the 2015 World Junior Championships for his native country as well as playing in the 2013 U-17 World Hockey Challenge.
