(Oshawa, ON) -- Winger Easton Cowan (Mount Brydges, ON) captured the J. Ross Robertson Cup and the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award for Playoff MVP as his London Knights captured the OHL Championship last night with a 7-1 win over the Oshawa Generals in Game Four.
The 19-year old Elgin-Middlesex Canucks Minor Hockey product led all playoff scorers with 34 points in 18 games. Cowan, a 5'11", 183 lb. left-shot forward, recorded 96 points in just 58 regular season games.
Cowan was the 1st round selection (28th overall) by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2023 NHL Entry Draft last June in Nashville, TN.
The Knights advance to the Memorial Cup being held in Saginaw, Michigan, commencing May 24th with the opening of the round-robin. The Knights first game is May 25th vs the QMJHL Champion Drummondville Voltigeurs.
