(Lugano, SUI) -- Gatineau Olympiques winger Cole Cormier (Dieppe, NB) has signed a two-year contract with HC Lugano of the Swiss National League commencing with the 2023-24 season.
Cormier is currently playing in the second round of the QMJHL playoffs with the Olympiques and will face the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies starting this weekend.
In the first round, Cormier had 2 goals and 2 assists as Gatineau eliminated the Saint John Sea Dogs.
The 5.10, 179 lbs. winger recorded 33 goals and 38 assists for 71 points during the regular season over 66 games.
He was originally drafted in the 3rd round of the 2018 QMJHL Entry Draft by the Rimouski Oceanic after a strong U18 season with the Moncton Flyers.
Over the course of his four-year QMJHL career, Cormier played in 230 games, scoring 84 goals and 105 assists during the regular season. He also added 6-7-13 in 20 playoff games.
