(Detroit, MI) -- Forward Pius Suter (Wallisellen, Switzerland) has signed two-year, $6.5 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings.
The 25-year old centre/winger was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Chicago Blackhawks in July of 2020 after four seasons in the Swiss League with the Zurich Lions.
Suter is coming off a strong rookie season with the Chicago Blackhawks after finishing fourth on the team with 27 points in 55 games.
The 5-11, 176 lbs. forward played two seasons in the CHL for the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League where he was a member of the J. Ross Robertson Cup Championship club in 2014.
Age age 18, Suter was selected in the 1st round, 34th overall in the 2013CHL Import Draft by the Storm out of the Zurich program.
