(Denver, CO) -- The Colorado Avalanche have called up Matthew Stienburg (Halifax, NS) to the club and he will make his NHL debut versus the Boston Bruins tonight.
The Avalanche selected the 24-year-old forward with their 3rd round choice (63rd overall) and the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
The 2nd year pro has been playing with their AHL affiliate Colorado Eagles and has 1 goal and 1 assist in his first two games this season.
The 6.01, 183 lbs. right-shooting centreman played two seasons at St. Andrew's College in Aurora, Ontario where he tallied 60 goals and 68 assists in 93 games from 2017-2019.
The Halifax native is a product of the Halifax Hawks and was a 10th round draft choice of the Saint John Seadogs of the QMJHL in 2016.
