(Chicago, IL) -- Centerman Pius Suter (Wallisellen, SUI) scored three goals to record the hat trick as he led the Chicago Blackhawks to a 6-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday.
He becomes just the third Swiss-born player to net a hat trick in the NHL. Nino Niederreiter (twice) and Timo Meier were the first two to do so.
He is the second player in Blackhawks history - and first in nearly 90 years – to score each of his first three career NHL goals in the same game (League debut or otherwise), joining Bill Kendall on Dec. 17, 1933.
Suter previously played for the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League from 2013-2015, winning an OHL championship in 2014.

He has spent the past five seasons with the Zurich Lions of the Swiss National League, winning a championship with the Lions in 2018 and being named the Most Valuable Player of the Swiss National League in 2020 before signing an NHL contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.
