(Guelph, ON) -- Hockey Canada has announced that 3 M&T clients will wear the Maple Leaf with Canada Red and Canada White at the 2024 U17 Hockey Challenge, set for November 3-9 at Progressive Auto Sales Arena in Sarnia, Ontario.
Maddox Dagenais (Blainville, QC), Jean-Christophe Lemieux (Belleville, ON and Blake Gowan (Kingston, ON) have been selected to take part in the six-team event featuring entries from Sweden, Czechia, Finland and the United States.
Dagenais is currently with the QMJHL Quebec Remparts and has six goals and seven assists in ten games to date. The 6-2, 181 lbs. centreman was the first overall selection in the QMJHL Entry Draft after playing for the Quinte Red Devils 16s last season.
Lemieux was the Windsor Spitfires' 2nd round selection in the OHL Priority Selection last spring after playing U16 with Dagenais on the Red Devils. He has 3 goals and 3 assists in six games to date for the Spitfires.
Gowan has played six games for the Peterborough Petes and has collected two assists. He was the Petes' 2nd round choice in the OHL Priority Selection after a season with the OMHA Champion Barrie Jr. Colts.
